* Appraising IT project investments: tangible & intangible quantification
* Developing IT requirements and the project schedule
* Estimating and allocating project resources
* Analyzing the project plan and identifying the critical path
**Practical Exercises:** Project charter, WBS, task listing, resource requirements & costing, critical path analysis
**Day Three – Managing the Project**
* Resource planning: scheduling and leveling
* Defining team roles and responsibilities
* Risk and issue management: identifying and controlling project risks
* Change and issue management processes
* Monitoring and controlling project status
* Managing vendors and third-party contractors
**Practical Exercises:** resource levelling, HR management plan, risk register, contractor SOW, project plan development and approval
**Day Four – Executing the Project**
* Executing project plans effectively
* Distributing project information: technical & management reporting
* Change control systems and effective change management
* Project performance measurement tools
* Baseline techniques and Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
**Practical Exercises:** Technical and management reports, change request documentation, performance measurement reports
**Day Five – Closing the Project**
* Validating project scope and deliverables
* Contract close-out administration and procurement audits
* Verifying deliverables and ensuring customer satisfaction
* Lessons learned: capturing and applying for organizational growth
